Have you ever overslept? Or set the alarm after a power outage for pm vs am? Happened to me this morning. Sometimes I walk in my sleep and don't remember cutiing off the alarm, Lori has witnessed this first hand. You know the feeling that you have in the pit of your stomach when this happens. I always feel like someone hit me in the gut when I realize I missed what I had intended to get up for.
I'm 35, a prior military man, and this doesn't happen often, but when it does its just like I'm back in high school. I immediately start making excuses, just like I'm doing now. The realization is that for whatever reason I missed Men's Fraternity this morning. Dang, it was going to be a good one, too.
How many people do you know who are sleep walking through life? Or better yet through their Christian walk? How many people do you know that will miss the rapture? Their won't be any excuse that morning, just the realization that they missed it. How bad the gut feeling will be that day when the realization sets in.
Do you have your heart ready? If Jesus came back today do you know if you would meet him in the sky or sleep right through it? The bible tells us to be ready because the son of man will come like a theif in the night. And nobody but God knows the hour and the day!! God even gave you a message about oversleeping! I overslept yesterday...my alarm clock isn't working and I need to buy a new one. That has nothing to do with anything....just thought I would share.
