Plows

Got my buttons back. Yesterday the toolbar was nowhere to be found and I couldn't spellcheck, which was a little scary, nor could I increase the font. I use Frank as an excuse, but it really makes the post look longer.

I wanted to give you an insight this morning on why I blog. This question in my mind still remains to be answered. I have never been faithful at all in keeping a journal, my New Year resolutions fail miserably, and I have never written anything!! I started this just to see if I could do it and now I do it everyday, and have been since August 31st.

Its kinda like when your kid loses their first tooth and you give them a 5 spot. They are happy and you are happy until you realize they have 20 something more teeth to go (not a dentist). And the worst part is, kids understand inflation and the younger child will expect more. You have, in essence, started something and you have to keep it up.

The mornings I struggle for what to say I realize later in the day that I was trying to right it instead of letting God lead. It's funny how when we try to do things ourselves, nothing makes sense and we flounder about all around the mark. I use several resources to help me, but a lot of times I get out of the way and let go and let God! The bible tells us in Luke 9:62
62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
Luke 9:62 (NASB)

I like the NASB translation on this one, because of the mention of the plow, but the Message version is good, too. Lets look at how it reads:
62 Jesus said, "No procrastination. No backward looks. You can't put God's kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day."
Luke 9:62 (MSG)

Same meaning, just a different way of saying it. I used this verse just to say that the blog is one of my many plows. Obviously our relationship with Jesus is the primary plow, but I view it as a set of cultivators - all working together to get the weeds away from me. And I wanted to say thank you for not letting me look back. Your reading it everyday, your comments, phone calls, and prayers keep me going. I do this daily as much for me as I do it for you.
