What is a God size task? I believe the answer to be anything and everything. I mean if you really think about it....isn't everything? When we look for God we find him, and when we rely upon him awesome things happen.
Lets jump back 3 weeks in time. David and Cara Locke find out their son (Carl Dacus) has a tumor. You see, in Anderson at the Dr's office they see a huge tumor in his little chest cavity. They rush them to the Greenville hospital and no tumor. God size task #1. Then he is diagnosed with Lukemia and the Dr's are leaning toward the type that requires a bone marrow transplant (A.L.M.). Well it turns out to be the type (A.L.L.) that can be treated with chemo. The most common in children that age. God size task #2. And then a few days ago on David's 35th birthday they find out he's in remission. God size task #3.
I personally know that a lot of you have been praying for Carl Dacus and the family, and I do believe in the power of prayer. When we rely on God awesome things happen, and this ain't nothing but a God thing. Our God is so much bigger than any task we can lay at his feet. The storms of life come. Jesus told his disciples that they would face storms in life and I like the song a few years ago that talked about the storms and says "sometimes He calms the storm and other times He calms His child".
I talked with David last night and they are just overwhelmed at the outpouring of love they have witnessed since this whole thing started. He told me story after story of how God had revealed himself to them through random people that they don't even know. I'm getting a little like Dodd just thinking about it (for those who don't know Dodd, I start leaking around the eyes).
I'm sure you can think of some God size task that He has helped you through. Give Him all the praise and glory this morning and most importantly know that you do matter to God and that He loves you very much.
If you have a story about His glory that you would like to share, please feel free to leave a comment.
Have a Blessed Day!!!

AMEN!!! When Dale gave the news at small group last night about Carl Dacus you could here the joy go through the fellowship hall. Prayer is a strong thing and the only thing stronger is our God.
Sorry I didn't do this right the first time; however, you can't always teach old dogs new tricks....
Michael asked me to share my two God size tasks. Twenty-two years ago my dad passed away. Prior to this he had been in the hospital and my mom and I were taking turns sitting with him - which meant that I couldn't always go to the WMU meetings. We were clothing a little boy for Easter and I had to pay up which took everything in my wallet. At that time, we were really "strapped" for anything spare, but the next day on my desk was a check that had been sent to the wrong home address for me - twice what I gave. Didn't think that much, but do remember thanking God. About three weeks later, when my dad passed away, my co-workers gave me 100 times what I gave. That was extremely humbling for me. Is that a God size task? You bet your sweet bippie it was.....
Then, traveliing down 221 in the metropolitan area of Enoree, someone stopped short in front of the car that was in front of me causing me to HIT THE BRAKES, which caused my explorer to do a 360....not the first car on the road. Made the mailbox I hit look like a pinwheel in the wind, but the other driver checked on me and I couldn't get out of my car because of all the cars on the road. God size task?
Those were extremely dramatic to me, but God sometimes has to hit me with a brick to make me stop and realize what He is doing in my life. He has put so many godly people in my life and for that I am truly glad.
So, did I do it right this time, Michael?
