Yesterday I was talking with a friend and I confessed to this person that I had only talked to God once, the whole day. It was almost 5 pm!!! I had talked about God on several occasions during the day and I listen to preaching or Christian music on the radio as I ride around. But it just hit me that I had not talked with Him since Men's Fraternity.
Is this just a problem that I face or do you guys find yourself in the same boat?? I usually think all day about Godly things, but rarely do I talk to Him. I know there is room for both, but I think He wants us talking to Him more than just about Him.
I think I get caught up in religion instead of a relationship. What I can do rather than what God can do through me, or what needs to be done vs. God what do You want done. The more I confess here the more I realize it is just a change in the thought process. Now I know this isn't ground breaking information. I knew it already, but why is it so hard to put into practice. I think because we get in the way with our personal agendas and the thought that we alone can make a difference.
We don't have to be on our knees every time we talk to God. All He wants is for us just to talk with Him as we do with everyone else.
