This morning I was laying on the couch watching the Weather Channel and I couldn't get up. I've got to write the post, shave my head, and be in Liberty @ 7am to meet a customer for breakfast. Its 5:40am, but I've been just watching the tube since 5:15. For those mathematically challenged that's 25 minutes I should've been in here writing this, and those minutes are gone forever, never to return.
The devil is very convincing and he continued to say "5 more minutes under this down blanket won't hurt". Why is it so hard to daily hear the voice of truth? It has become apparent to me over my life, that if its easy, then more than likely it is the devil talking. Just like the song by Casting Crowns the Voice of Truth (God), tells me a different story. There is nothing in God that is lazy, and I know He would have me jump up and not waste a moment of the day I've been given. Like Jennifer Byers post a few days ago, I too feel like God calls us to "Get Up".
Serving the Lord in such an evil world is hard work and it requires all of our attention and 110% of passion. If we truly love the Lord we want to always please him, but its not always that easy. Wanting and doing are two totally different animals. It can be done and it takes a lot of time in the word and talking to God, and also listening to the Holy Spirits promptings.
Get out there today and listen for the Voice of Truth, and in doing so lives will be changed, differences will be made, and at the end of the day we will be grateful for yet another productive day.
