Church Politics

After yesterday's post I almost feel like I’m back. It has been a while since I’ve had a post to where I felt like checking for comments all day long. I like it when you guys talk back to me. I like to know that God used me to get to someone.

Anyway, I thought a lot yesterday about what I wrote and it made me question the whole agenda thing and I immediately thought about church politics. Have I ever confessed to you that I absolutely HATE church politics and personal agendas? Well, I do and I just can’t see any room for people who feel like they have to do this and that because they have always done it that way. I realize that I am stepping way out on a limb here, but I just don’t get it.

I know that we are all made different, but in Christ we are brothers and sisters…..right! So if we are a body of believers that belong to the body of Christ, and in essence we are that body of Christ why do churches split? Why do people get mad and leave?

I’ll tell you why - it's because people start sinking just like Peter did. It is when we take our eyes off Jesus that we start to sink. Keep your eyes on Him and He will never lead you astray. And most importantly, pray for Jesus to lead always and that His will be done.

Have a Blessed Day!!!

I assume the soap-boxing is speaking in generalities, but be careful not to concern yourself, too much, with what other folks might be thinking.
1 Peter 3:14-15 says-"Even if you suffer for it, you're still better off. Don't give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts in adoration before Christ."
You have way more support than you realize, and we all have the same goals. Thank you for your commitment. God Bless!

Maybe not the forum to air out discontent with your church! Every church has its own identity thats what makes it what it is. Other things that split up churches are the ideas of one or two being imposed on all. A church doesn't have to have an awesome sound system, a stage,a rock band or widescreens to be a church. Once again maybe not the forum for it.

It takes all kinds of people to make up a church body. If we were all eyes in the body of the church, what would we hear with? If we were all noses, who would speak our voice? If we were all so focused on immediately changing things for what we want, then who would keep us grounded? Your visions are great, but instead of focusing on what stands in the way, focus on things that that is in need and do not have the roadblock in front of it and move in that general direction. Pray about what God has in his plan for the church and eventually if it is God's will, then the roadblock that once stood in front of you will then be moved. I pray that you will be long-suffering which is a virtue that we all could us a little more of.
