Mr. Prophetic......Dodd Wilson

Quick update on Zachary....read the comment Jennifer left last night on yesterday's post. Thanks to everybody for your prayers and continue to lift him up.

I get a lot of good stuff from Dodd Wilson. I know for some of you this will be hard to believe, but it's true. Dodd has some great vision and insight, but he will say something awesome and ten minutes later can't remember even saying it. Y'all pray for Dodd.

Last night, I was thinking about what to post about this morning and I thought about Zachary and Dodd's comment. For those who didn't read it, he said... "Vision is better as time goes on. Thanks for all your prayers. It's all in God's hands." Can you see the parallation??

Dodd of course was talking about Zachary, but how true is this statement about each of us concerning our daily walk? Let me break it down.

  1. "Vision is better as time goes on." When we first get saved or we get serious about a re-dedication, our vision improves. Not in a literal sense, but in the understanding of where God wants us and how He can use us. The Bible becomes alive, and we can see the words preached 2000 years ago are still applicable today.
  2. "Thanks for all your prayers." We all walk the same road, but that road is very different for each of us. That's why we need to continually pray for each other and lift each other up. As our vision improves, we see the need for prayer - not only as a last ditch effort when the pooh hits the fan, but as a way of just talking to God. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "pray without ceasing".
  3. "It's all in God's hands." We all know that God controls everything, but He also holds everything too. I like the thought of God holding me in his hand and loving me. God is love and He holds us not only when we need it, but always. Lets look at what the bible says:
16 We know it so well, we've embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God. God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us.
    1 John 4:16 (MSG)

Thanks Dodd for the vision this morning. Everybody be careful tonight with the trick or treating. For those who don't know, Brown Avenue is the place to be tonight. We normally have around 2000 kids come through wanting candy.

Also a quick word about my neighbors: They are having a Heaven vs. Hell something in their front yard. It's something the church they attend does every year. I don't know what to expect.

Have a Blessed Day!!!

Free

Well here we are, just after everybody has gotten used the old, I change it. I figured after coming back with two days off I'd try something new. Not really, I just found out that Blogspot doesn't charge anything to support a blog. Typepad was charging me $15.00 a month. And for me, being a novice at this and all I figured I would go with the FREE blog support. So everybody save this to your favorites, and it's a little bit easier to remember.

I am still working on the Super Cool Person of the Week questionnaire so don't freak out, I remember the promise I made. I should be emailing that out later tonight.

Yesterday was a great day. Church was awesome.......Dale talked about tithing! Do you guys realize what we could do if EVERYBODY tithed? (We wouldn't have to have silent auctions for the youth to take a trip.) Anyway, moving right along. The kids, along with Lori and I, carved two pumpkins on the front porch and it was fun. And then last night we had the hayride/campfire/ weenie roast at the Gilreath's - not to be confused with the weenie/Jay roast we had during the SS hour. :-)

All in all it was a good day, until I talked with Dodd. It seems that Zachary (Dodd's oldest son for those who don't know him) was shot in the eye with a plastic BB. I don't have many details, but he has to remain on his back for 24 hrs and has another appointment with the doctor at 3pm today. Everybody pray hard that God will heal his eye. The doctor isn't sure what to expect. The eye is still intact, but he cannot see anything right now. So today, lift up Dodd and Jennifer and especially Zachary.

Sorry to be bearer of such news, but I just wanted those who didn't know to be praying.

On a lighter note, let me know what you think of the new blog. I am still working on getting my glamour shot from the old blog to this one. And I made it easier to post a comment. You don't have to read those encrypted letters anymore to publish your comment.

Have a Blessed Day!!
